Logan Paul seemingly accepted an invitation from political commentator Candace Owens to have a debate, announcing as much on his "Impaulsive" podcast show uploaded on Tuesday.
The direct scoop from his spokespeople, coming from Insider:
"They chatted briefly and determined that although both of them disagree on a variety of topics, they are both much more interested in learning from one another and think people would benefit from hearing an honest discussion between two parties rather than a 'gotcha' moment that might play well for social media."
But the YouTube personality was very forward about his reaction to all of this on his show. He was mostly confused.
"[Paul] speaking of about racism… during the BLM movement… went like… REviral," Logan says when referring to the original resurfaced clip that caught fresh circulation.
For context, what Mr. Paul is talking about is a semi-viral clip from an old episode of Logan Paul’s podcast show posted by @MythinformedMKE.
The video highlights a passionate Logan declaring his fealty to the ideology of "anti-racism."
A point of contention currently when it comes to the fight over teaching critical race theory in the public school system. In this old clip, Paul talked about his belief of white privilege and how it allows him to get away with his antics.
(Logan Paul talks about attending a protest in this clip from last summer, June 2020. The result of that was his arrest for misdemeanor trespassing during a mall looting in Scottsdale, Arizona.)
This resurfaced viral clip got a response from Candace Owens.
She said: "Logan loves to challenge people in the boxing ring.I’d like to publicly challenge him to go a few rounds with me in a political debate. @LoganPaul—how about you stop by my show and explain to me how you’re *checks notes* more privileged than me because you’re white and I’m not?"
Fast forward to Paul’s response on his show yesterday: "I was getting CANCELLED by white supremacists (I think), or people who followed that agenda… for not be racist?" the podcast host says with an air of confusion.
His co-host Mike Majlak chimes in: "There’s nothing more TWENTY TWENTY ONE than a person of color (Candace Owens) calling out a white man for standing up…. for persons of color."
"Regardless of her sentiments or thoughts on whether uhhhhhhhhhhh ‘RACISM’ truly still exists or whether white people have it easier than people of color…. it made me feel so disgusting, dude. Such a clear play for clout that involved a subject that should never be brought into clout plays."
Within the past week Candace Owens had publicly called out this CRT situation at the core by inviting Ibram X. Kendi onto her show, to which he declined.
