57 percent of voters want Congress to investigate the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for how the government-run health agency handled the issue of possible health risks from taking the various Covid vaccines according to a new Rasmussen poll.
According to the Rasmussen Reports website, a "national telephone and online survey finds that 57 percent of Likely U.S. Voters believe Congress should investigate how the CDC dealt with issues of COVID-19 vaccine safety."
900 likely US voters were surveyed between January 15-17. The results have a margin of error of +/- 3 percentage points, and a confidence level of 95 percent.
Charlie Kirk tweeted, "57 percent of voters want the CDC investigated according to a new Rasmussen survey. This is great news!"
A closer breakdown of the numbers found that 70 percent of Republicans said the CDC should be investigated, compared to 48 percent of Democrats.
49 percent of those polled said they believe the CDC communicated the possible side effects of Covid with complete information, 41 percent said they did not think the public was given full data, and 10 percent were unsure.
The questions provided to respondents were, "How likely is it that the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (known as the CDC) has provided the public with complete information about the danger of side effects from COVID-19 vaccines?" and "Should Congress investigate how the CDC dealt with issues of COVID-19 vaccine safety?"
In August of last year, following the results of an external report, CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky announced that she was calling for a "reset" to ensure that the agency would be better able to assist Americans if and when the next pandemic takes place. The report found that guidance from the CDC had "caused confusion," during the height of the Covid pandemic.
On January 13, the CDC announced an investigation into whether the Bivalent Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine increases the risk of ischemic strokes in people aged 65 or older.
The CDC previously noted that over a 1000 official cases of myocarditis have been reported as a side effect of the vaccine, mostly in men ages 16 to 24.Powered by StructureCMS™ Comments
