Toronto police arrest man brandishing machete who rammed cars on Don Valley Parkway

Toronto Police say they were called to the Don Valley Parkway near York Mills road around 3 p.m. after a woman reported that a man was repeatedly ramming his vehicle into hers.

Two police officer has been injured after a machete brandishing man rammed their cars after chasing another motorist down on the Don Valley Parkway near York Mills, Global News Radio reports.

Toronto Police say they were called to the incident at 3 p.m. yesterday after a call from a woman. The woman said a man was ramming into her vehicle with his.      

"She reported that her car had been rammed by another man and his car a number of times," said Const. David Hopkinson to Global News Radio. "She was trying to get away from him and was very fearful."

Police say the man was following the woman in her car before the incident took place. He then exited his vehicle brandishing a machete and walked over to the woman's car while making threats.

Const. David Hopkinson says the man then walked back to his car and rammed their police cruisers. Officers pursued the man down the Don Valley Parkway while he continued to ram their vehicles. Eventually they managed to arrest the man by boxing him in with their cruisers.

Two officers have unknown injuries and the suspect is in police custody. The investigation into the events continues today.
