Michael Lopez, 27 years old and on parole from a 2014 attempted murder arrest, was caught on a now-viral video shooting on a Bronx street on Jun. 17.

Lopez will face a judge tonight, and will have to answer to a laundry list of charges, as he has been charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, use of a firearm, reckless endangerment, attempted reckless endangerment and other related charges.

According to local outlet Pix 11, the motive for the shooting, which endangered the lives of two girls aged 13 and 5, is yet unclear, although Lopez is a suspected member of the "Make it Happen Boyz" street gang.

The two girls were not physically harmed in the incident. Lopez's alleged intended victim suffered several gunshot wounds to the legs and back, and is currently being treated in hospital.

NYPD have also manifested that there is a possible alleged accomplice to the shooting who is still at large. As this is an ongoing investigation, people who may have any information pertaining to this case are asked to contact them.

Darcel Clark, Bronx County's DA, spoke during a press conference, talking about the Bronx and it's continuing reputation as being a place of chaos and disorder, along with what, some might say, the other boroughs of NYC:

"More than 40 years ago during a Yankee game, the TV cameras focused on a building on fire not too far from Yankee Stadium and the announcer said, 'The Bronx is burning.' That footage defined the Bronx for years to come and we were seen as a place of destruction and arson."

"Now, we have this video of two innocent children running for their lives. The images of a 13-year-old girl shielding her 5-year-old brother from bullets fired by a gunman in broad daylight on a Thursday afternoon. That heart-wrenching video was seen around the world and now I fear that the catch-phrase is, ‘The Bronx is bleeding.'"
