Man in critical condition after shooting in Thornhill plaza

A man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and is in critical condition after a shooting in Thornhill on Thursday night.

The shooting took place at 100 Steeles Avenue West, a strip mall just west of the Yonge and Steeles intersection.

According to York Regional Police, they were called at 6:42pm after a man walked into a cafe with multiple gunshot wounds. Police say the victim, a Mississauga man, with multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim remains in critical condition due to the life-threatening injuries.

“I feel unsafe that this is happening all the time,” one witness told CP24. The witness pointed out that there had been a nearby shooting only two weeks earlier.

Police have no information on the shooter and do not know how he fled the scene. As a result, the police have no suspects at this time but are asking members of the public with any information on the shooting to come forward.
