Police arrest Ontario man accidentally released from Maplehurst Correctional Complex

An inmate who was released from Maplehurst Correctional Complex by mistake last week might be in the Kitchener area, according to Halton Regional Police.

An inmate who was released from Maplehurst Correctional Complex by mistake last week was thought to be in the Kitchener area, according to Halton Regional Police.

Lee Madore was released on April 14 after a clerical error, police said in a news release.

The 37-year-old was wanted and dangerous, reported CTV News.

Police say he was serving a 17 month sentence as a result of several offences.

The offences include:

  • Possession of stolen property under $5,000 - two counts
  • Fraudulent use of a credit card - two counts
  • Assaulting peace officer
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Procure to make an identity document
  • Fail to comply with recognizance - two counts
  • Break and enter - two counts

Halton police have the man back in custody, as of Tuesday afternoon.
