The Florida resort owned by former President Donald Trump is slated to play host to a Republican National Committee event tonight whose guests include hundreds of top donors. Trump will be speaking at the event.

According to The Washington Post, the Republican Party has spent over $100,000 on the 400-person banquet.

Tonight's event was originally set to happen at the nearby Four Seasons Resort, but it was reported that the RNC moved the dinner to Mar-a-Lago as a "friendly but expensive gesture from party Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, made at a time when Trump was publicly criticizing the party".

The evening will commence, according to The New York Post, with remarks by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, followed by Ronna McDaniel. Donald Trump himself is scheduled to appear on stage around 7pm.

Since leaving office, Trump has been living at Mar-a-Lago, and while no longer president, he still exudes an incredible amount of influence in the Republican Party. As The Washington Post reports, over the past four months, Trump's resort has been frequented by politicians, including numerous notable names, many of whom yearn to have the former president speak at their events.

Kicked off social media and out of office, Trump has still found a way to utilize the power of his name and get his MAGA message out, while also making some money along the way.
