Mark McCloskey tweeted a picture of himself sporting a new AR-15 back on Saturday. His wife Patricia was at his side. "Checking out my new AR!" he tweeted.

The loss of the pair's guns was a part of the plea deal last week. The viral McCloskey couple, famous for waving guns at protestors who trespassed on their St. Louis area home during the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020, agreed to pay fines and forfeit their firearms in a plea agreement on Thursday.

However that doesn't mean the McCloskeys are forbidden from owning guns again.

Mark McCloskey told Fox News: "We're strong advocates of the Second Amendment and we're going to continue to exercise our rights and protect ourselves. We intend to keep our arms and bear them. We're a constitutional carry state. I will replace those (guns) which the state took."

The McCloskeys entered the plea deal over charges from the couple's decision to defend their home from Black Lives Matter protesters last summer.

Mark's charge of fourth-degree assault cost him $750, and Patricia's second-degree harassment charge cost her $2,000.

This was after a turbulent police investigation into the St. Louis couple last year after their incident went viral on social media. Questions surrounding the chain of custody and the dismissal of attorney Kim Gardner beleaguered the legal situation.

It was last month that Mark McCloskey announced his campaign for the Missouri Senate seat. The basis of his platform was reminding the general public what happened to him and his wife, then promising, "When the mob comes to destroy our home, our state, our nation—I'll defend it. I will NEVER BACK DOWN."

"One year ago, an angry mob crashed through my gate, and threatened my wife, my family, and my home," Mark McCloskey stated on the resolution of misdemeanor charges. "The prosecutor dropped all charges against me, except for a claim that I put other people in imminent fear of physical harm. That's exactly what I did, that's what the guns were for."

He vowed that any time the mob comes and threatens him, he'll do the same to protect his family. "I will never back down to the liberal mob in the Senate, and I will always stand strong for Missouri," he promised.
