Willy Suarez Maceo, 25 years old and residing in the Miami suburb of Kendall, was charged with the attempted murder of a homeless man on Thursday, and is suspected of other incidents.

The victim, who was shot near the area of downtown Miami, barely survived the attack, and is currently hospitalized and in critical condition.

Police also believe that Maceo was involved in two other incidents in which homeless people were shot and killed, including one that happened a mere two hours later on Thursday, in Miami's bohemian and rapidly-gentrifying Wynwood neighborhood.

The third attack in which Suarez is suspected of being the shooter occurred on Oct. 16. Police also state that there may be other potential victims of Suarez.

According to the New York Post, Miami police later tracked down Suarez slightly further south, on NW Sixth Avenue. Upon searching him, they found a firearm on his person, which is believed to have been the weapon used in all three shootings.

At the time, he was charged with trespassing and booked (the firearm appears to have been registered and Suarez had a valid concealed-carry permit), but further charges of murder and attempted murder are likely pending shortly.

Suarez's motive for the killings is also currently under investigation.
