The Halton Regional Police Service—Internet Child Exploitation Unit (I.C.E.) arrested a male suspect in connection with making child pornography and other child sexual abuse-related offences. The accused was again arrested on January 12, 2022, and further charges were laid.
According to police, Omar Ashi, 36, of Milton, Ontario as been charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Child Pornography (2 counts)
- Making Child Pornography (3 counts)
- Voyeurism (2 counts)
- Assault
- Forcible Confinement
A police report released on Wednesday says that Ashi was held pending a bail hearing.
"The offences are alleged to have occurred in the Town of Milton, and the City of Burlington, and span over several years. The accused also goes by the name Omar Ashi-Popp. Police believe there may be additional victims," they write.
