The resumption of the 8pm lockdown curfew in Quebec has prompted numerous residents to come out in protest of Premier Francois Legault’s strict regulations in the Canadian province. An instance of apparent police brutality by the Montreal Police (SPVM) on Saturday have also prompted increased scrutiny of Montreal’s enforcement of its curfew.
As reported by Westphalian News’ Marie Oakes, police showed up in massive numbers at the Jeanne-Mance Parc in Montreal on Sunday evening.

“The SPVM has yet to respond or release information related to an incident of excessive force yesterday at Jeanne-Mance Parc,” she wrote.
While reporting at the public park, the journalist captured an SPVM arrest of a woman. Police tried to prevent her from filming it.
