Eight illegal immigrants were killed in a car collision in Texas on Monday while being pursued by law enforcement, Fox News reports.

The incident is the latest in a series of deadly crashes involving vehicles transporting illegal immigrants, lured by the Biden administration's promises of amnesty.

The crash took place 30 miles north of the border city of Del Rio.

"Preliminary investigation revealed a red Dodge pickup was evading from DPS troopers traveling on US 277 when it caused a head-on collision with a white Ford F-150," wrote the Texas Department of Public Safety in a statement to Fox News. "Due to injuries sustained, 8 undocumented passengers from the Dodge pickup were pronounced deceased on scene."

The vehicle occupied by the illegal immigrants was carrying ten people, two of whom survived. One of the illegal immigrants who survived the crash while the driver of the vehicle was arrested after attempting to flee the scene. It is unclear if the driver was an illegal immigrant. The two occupants of the F-150, a man and a child, also survived.

The survivors of the crash, aside from the driver of the F-150, were taken to hospital and are reportedly in stable condition.

Investigators are looking into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
