Mumford & Sons guitarist mobbed on Twitter by Antifa for supporting Andy Ngo's book

Mumford & Sons Winston Marshall posted praise for Andy Ngo's new book Unmasked, exposing Antifa, and was instantly attacked by a social media mob. Marshall then deleted the tweet.

"Congratulations @MrAndyNgo." said Marshall in a now deleted tweet. "Finally had the time to read your important book. You’re a brave man."

Marshall, who plays guitar and banjo for rock band Mumford & Sons, lauded The Post Millennial editor-at-large Ngo for his bravery after he read the book, a New York Times bestseller.

Marshall's tweet sparked outrage as social justice trolls flocked to Twitter to show their distaste for his support of Ngo, including from an English band that compared his praise of Ngo to supporting oppression and fascism.

"That fact this twat from Mumford is openly showing his support for continued oppression/fascism/the interests of greed, is almost normal now. He inhabits the same landscape most large bands do. Will exist in environments that offer a service to free minded people. It's f*cked," Sleaford Mods wrote.

In response to Marshall's tweet, Antifa Twitter slammed Mumford & Son's with one going as far as to liken Marshall's support of Ngo with support for Nazis. While Marshall read the book before posting his thoughts on it, it is unlikely that the many accounts coming out to bash both him and the book had done so.

Marshall was effectively hounded by the mob from sharing his views on Ngo's work, and undoubtedly this experience will have the effect of silencing him in the future.
