It has been confirmed by the RCMP that a woman who was found dead in Nova Scotia was killed by her dog, reports CTV News.

Police responded to Middle Musquodoboit, N.S. after receiving a report about a possible death on Tuesday. The body was found in a ditch by a jogger who was passing by and the dog had been spotted at the scene.
According to police, the dog ran away before officers made it to the scene.
Investigators say the woman was taking her dog for a walk when it attacked her.

Police confirmed that the victim was from Middle Musquodoboit but have not released her identity or age.
Police warned the public on Tuesday morning that there was a “dangerous” pit bull located close to the intersection of Webster Road and Wittenburg Road.
They asked residents to stay in their homes as they looked for the dog, which was eventually found dead.
The RCMP say a vehicle struck the dog close to Highway 224.

When speaking with CTV News, the driver said he purposely hit the dog out of concern for his grandchildren's safety.
