In a recent press conference, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made it known her opinion on Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

When asked by a reporter about calls from the Democratic caucus for Thomas to resign.

"I don't think he should have ever been appointed," Pelosi responded.

Thomas had recently faced calls to resign after it was revealed that his wife, Virginia "Ginni" Thomas, had sent texts urging to overturn the 2020 presidential results, according to the New York Post.

"Clarence Thomas should resign," Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wrote on Twitter.

"If not, his failure to disclose income from right-wing organizations, recuse himself from matters involving his wife, and his vote to block the Jan 6th commission from key information must be investigated and could serve as grounds for impeachment," she added.

"Congress must understand that a failure to hold Clarence Thomas accountable sends a loud, dangerous signal to the full Court - Kavanaugh, Barrett, & the rest - that his acts are fair game," the "Squad" member added in a second tweet. "This is a tipping point. Inaction is a decision to erode and further delegitimize SCOTUS."

One of these text messages, sent on November 10, 2020, reportedly read: "Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!! You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America’s constitutional governance at the precipice. The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History," according to the New York Post.

"Do not concede," she reportedly wrote in another text dated November 5, 2020.

"Biden crime family & ballot fraud co-conspirators (elected officials, bureaucrats, social media censorship mongers, fake stream media reporters, etc) are being arrested & detained for ballot fraud right now & over coming days, & will be living in barges off GITMO to face military tribunals for sedition," she wrote in another message later that same day.

"The Supreme Court’s power relies on the trust the people place on Justices to act in the public interest, not their own personal interest," Rep. Ted Lieu wrote in a tweet. "Justice Clarence Thomas’ corruption in trying to cover up the crazy stuff Ginni Thomas did is a dagger to the Supreme Court’s reputation."

Others echoed similar sentiments, calling for Thomas to recuse himself from cases pertaining to January 6, or be impeached altogether.

Thomas, a conservative justice, faces these calls for resignation just days after he was released from the hospital for an infection.
