No self-respecting person can see Trudeau’s 'one-dose summer' as anything other than an admission of failure

Just last month, Trudeau was talking about everyone being vaccinated by the end of summer.

When Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole broke his carbon tax promise, I repeatedly wrote about how Conservative MPs were showing a serious lack of self-respect by going along with it.

And the stakes there were pretty big, as the breaking of a promise like that is no small matter.

But the stakes of Justin Trudeau’s broken promise on vaccinations are far higher, measured in lives and economic devastation.

Now, it’s time for Liberals MPs to be asked the following question:

How can you expect anyone to vote for you if you keep backing up Trudeau’s lies and failures, showing disrespect to both yourselves and those you expect to vote for you?

Just last month, Trudeau was talking about everyone being vaccinated by the end of summer.

The government had repeatedly said everyone who wanted a vaccine (and they were talking about two-doses, not just one), would have them by the end of September.

But now, in what is an obvious admission of failure, Trudeau (or more likely some advisor,) came up with the talking point of a "one-dose summer."

Amazingly, he says it as if it is some sort of accomplishment, as if we should thank him for failing to meet his earlier promise.

In a clever Tweet, MP Mike Lake summed up Trudeau’s attitude:

"Justin Trudeau the hockey coach, after a 5-2 loss: “Let me be clear. We’ve said all along that we would lose this game 5-1. We made a promise to our fans that we had their backs, and - you know what - we delivered even more than we promised!"

If Conservative MPs should be ashamed for going along with a carbon tax lie, shouldn’t Liberal MPs be resigning rather than enabling Trudeau’s pathetic gaslighting efforts?

Again, the point has to be made that one or two mistakes in a chaotic pandemic situation would be understandable.

But it’s been constant mistakes, from the beginning, and nothing has changed except the endless absence of competence:

"Trust the science."
"The best vaccine is the first one offered."
"Border controls cause harm."
"The virus is low risk."

Why should we believe anything these fools say after the absurd number of reversals they've made?

As America opens up and increasingly returns to normal, Canadians are still living under draconian lockdowns, with our economy once again losing jobs, a worsening mental health crisis, absurd deficits, surging debt, mounting inflation, and more.

We are still paying the price for Trudeau’s absolutely appalling move to partner with China on vaccines, while our allies all jumped ahead, and now we are expected to be grateful for a one-dose summer from someone who has failed miserably at their basic tasks.

I don’t think so.
