The province of Manitoba announced its first new case of the COVID-19 coronavirus on Monday, after going six consecutive days without one, according to CTV News.
The province has a total of 290 cases as of Monday, as written on their provincial website's daily bulletin. Only one person is currently in hospital and no one has had to be brought into intensive care. Of those cases, 26 are still active and 257 people have already made a full recovery. As for deaths, Manitoba has seen seven thus far.
They province tested 487 people on Sunday which brought the province's total number of tests up to 35,200 since February. Most testing centres were closed on Monday for Victoria Day.
Chief public health officer Dr. Brent Roussin and other public health officials have recommended that Manitobans stay in or at least to say close to within their communities, only leaving the house when necessary.
Manitobans who live in the southern part of the province are not permitted to travel north of the 53rd parallel, essentially anywhere past the northern end of Lake Winnipeg.
