One man is in custody after he allegedly killed a Richmond Hill woman Wednesday evening.

York Regional Police say they were responding to an unknown trouble call near King Road and Yonge Street at around 8 pm.

Upon arrival, police found a dead woman and a man suffering from injuries.

The man was arrested and transported to hospital for his injuries.

The relationship between the two has not yet been confirmed.

"There are a number of things our investigators are looking at and still trying to determine," Const. Laura Nicolle told CP24.

The situation is likely a domestic incident, Nicolle said, and there was no signs of forced entry into the home.

"There is limited information, but we do want the community to know that we don't believe anyone else was involved, or we don't believe there were any other suspects or anyone else injured," Nicolle said.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact York Regional Police's homicide unit at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7865 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
