On Tuesday, Ontario will begin lifting certain lockdown restrictions to allow the province to start a slow reopening, such as allowing retail stores to open as well as selected surgeries.
Workplaces will be allowed to reopen although the province strongly recommends that all those who can work from home continue to do so, according to City News.
The province will allow all construction to resume and property maintenance like landscaping, painting and general cleaning services have been given permission to continue.
Retail stores that have an entrance accessible from the sidewalk may reopen on the condition that the establishment comply with all social distancing measures like limiting the amount of customers inside at one time. Retailers are asked to continue to offer delivery and curb-side pick up whenever possible.
In terms of recreation, golf courses are allowed to reopen although their clubhouses may only be open for the the purpose of using the washroom and picking up take-out food. Private parks and RV and trailer campgrounds can also reopen. Boat launches can be done now as well since boat clubs and marinas are open.
Libraries have reopened for pick-up or delivery and regular veterinary appointments may be made. In addition to that businesses that offer pet grooming, sitting or training may all resume. Housekeeping positions and baby sitters may also return to work.
Ontario's public schools will remain closed until at least May 31, a date that may be pushed back again.
