A driver from Kingston, Ontario was caught using a home-drawn license plate in an attempt to fool other drives and police resulting in the man potentially receiving hundreds of dollars in fines.

The drawing resembles an ordinary Ontario license plate, except with some missing details such as the provincial motto "Yours to Discover." The R and I in Ontario were also diluted.

The fake license plate was spotted by a police officer, who pulled over the driver.

According to Driving.ca, the punishment for such an offense could include:

"$85.00 – Drive motor vehicle, no permit;
$85.00 – Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit;
$85.00 – Drive motor vehicle, no plates;
$85.00 – Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates;
$85.00 – Drive motor vehicle, plate improperly displayed;
$85.00 – Drive motor vehicle, no validation on plate"
