A Brampton man was shot and killed in a residential area on Monday morning, Peel police say.

Paramedics were called to the Creditview and Clockwork Drive at 4:40 am after reports of gun shots. A 28-year-old man was shot and killed. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Const. Danny Marttini told CP24 that the shots came from inside the front door, and no motive has yet been given to the shooting.

"Obviously we have to confirm all the exact details in regards to suspects, or if there is any vehicle involved. At this point we don't have those details," said Marttini.

"They are going door-to-door, they are canvassing and looking for any kind of video surveillance footage that anyone might have," Marttini continued. "Have a look at your video, let us know."
