A man is dead after a overhead sign fell off and crushed a motorist on the QEW near Burlington and Hamilton on Tuesday.
Police say that a nearby excavator working in a construction zone hit the steel frames supporting signs above the road.

The signs then crushed a motorist, who has been identified as a 46-year-old Niagara man.
An investigation is underway.
