Ontario Premier Doug Ford will not be taking a COVID test following news that a junior member of the premier's staff had tested positive for the novel virus.
In a tweet, Ford explained that because he was not in close contact with the junior staff member, Ford would be "closely monitor[ing]" his symptoms and "tak[ing] appropriate action as needed."
Earlier today, a junior member of my tour team tested positive for COVID-19. I had no close contact or prolonged exposure to them and will therefore closely monitor my symptoms and take appropriate action as needed. I wish this member of my team a speedy and safe recovery.
