There were 111 new coronavirus cases reported in Ontario on Friday, which brings the total number provincial cases to 37,274, according to Global News.
Recently, the number of daily infections in Ontario has been declining. The province also reported 111 cases on Tuesday and Thursday.
Ontario’s death toll has now risen to 2,746, and 33,162 people—89 percent—have recovered from the virus.
So far, there have been 1,810,483 tests completed in Ontario—up 31,163 from Thursday. About 24,781 people are awaiting results.
According to Friday’s report, most of the new cases stemmed from the GTA. Toronto reported 38 cases, Durham Region reported 11 and York Region reported seven. There were just three cases reported in Peel Region. Windsor-Essex reported 21 new cases.
"Locally, 28 of Ontario’s 34 public health units are reporting five or fewer cases, with 18 of them reporting no new cases," said Health Minister Christine Elliott in a tweet on Friday.

There are currently 108 coronavirus patients in Ontario’s hospitals, with 30 in intensive care units and 21 on a ventilator in ICUs.
