After the state Democrats tried to deflect, the National Pulse reminded them about Kate Brown’s ties to the Chinese government.

Oregon Democrats accused Raheem Kassam and Natalie Winters of sharing “conspiracy theories” regarding China. In response, the National Pulse outlet published proof establishing close ties between Oregon Governor Kate Brown and the CCP.

Back on Monday, the Oregon Democrats Twitter account disavowed the Deschutes County Republican Party for daring to host Raheem Kassam and Natalie Winters of the National Pulse.

The Oregon Democrats accused the pair of promoting “China-centric” conspiracy theories, and in response the duo published further connections between China and Oregon Governor Kate Brown.

As outlined by The National Pulse’s coverage, Democrat Oregon Governor Kate Brown has ties to Beijing’s United Front Work Department. A foreign organization that’s designed to soften Western backlash to Chinese influence.

Oregon Governor Kate Brown attended the September 2015 China-US Governors Forum event held by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).

(For context, in September 2015 Governor Kate Brown met with Chinese President Xi Jinping.)

It wasn’t just her but also “California State Governor Jerry Brown, Washington  State Governor Jay Inslee, Michigan State Governor Rick Snyder, and Iowa State Governor Terry Branstad.”

The month after that, Governor Brown met with CPAFFC Vice President Lin Yi.

It’s something that was described as: "Governor Brown said it was her great honor to attend the Governors’ Forum held in Seattle last month. President Xi’s remarks were encouraging and the Forum helped provide great opportunities for U.S.-China cooperation. The State of Oregon regards China as the most important international partner and has willingness to strengthen pragmatic cooperation with China in education, science and technology, health, tourism and sports, etc."

This all might come as a surprise to people who just saw Kate Brown as someone who approved allowing students to graduate without proving they can read or write or do math, as well as being the person who reinstated mask mandates statewide.

But a further look better establishes National Pulse’s point. In July 2017 Kate Brown signed a resolution vowing to “advance economic and trade ties with China.” Brown was a vocal opponent of Trump’s trade war with China two years later for such reasons.
