Conservative Party leader Erin O'Toole released a statement on Tuesday, condemning the "frightening campaign" of rocket attacks by terrorist group Hamas on Israel.

The statement comes after over 160 rockets were launched into crowds of civilians on Monday. On Tuesday, another 130 rockets were fired, this time towards Tel Aviv and central Israel.

"Canada's Conservatives strongly condemn the frightening campaign of rocket attacks by Hamas. These terrorist attacks are indiscriminately targeting civilians and have already taken innocent lives. They  must end immediately," the statement says.

"Israel s a long-standing and important ally. We recognize and support Israel's right to defend itself against such terrorist attacks and urge that precautions are taken to spare innocent lives."

"Dialogue and peaceful negotiation are the only path forward toward a settlement between Israelis and Palestinians and an eventual two-state solution. We urge calm and sincerely hope that hostilities cease."

At least three people have been injured, including a five-year-old girl, when rockets struck the city of Holon, south of Tel Aviv, according to The Times of Israel. Alarms went off in Ramat Gan, Herzliya, and Ramat Hasharon, suburbs of the city.
