Erin O’Toole posted a tweet today commenting on the fact that two Canadians, Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig, are still detained in China.

As of today, the two men have been detained for 500 days. O’Toole attributes continuing imprisonment to Trudeau's government.

“The Trudeau government's weakness and incompetence with the Chinese regime have cost Canadians dearly,” he said in the tweet.

Spavor and Kovrig have not been able to visit with diplomats for over three months due to coronavirus measures in China.

The two men were detained in December of 2018.
