In Quebec, groups of up to 10 people from no more than three households will be allowed to gather outside starting Friday, according to CTV News. The announcement was made on Wednesday by Deputy Premier Genevieve Guilbault.
Guilbault added that public distancing guidelines will still need to be followed during gatherings which are not permitted indoors.
Guilbault noted that Quebec’s public health department gave the go ahead to loosen restrictions on the gatherings.
Quebec will also announce a plan to slowly reopen hair salons along with more personal grooming services on Wednesday.
Quebec has now had 3,718 deaths as a result of the coronavirus outbreak and on Wednesday health authorities announced that the province now has a total of 44,775 confirmed cases.
That is an increase of 71 deaths and 578 cases since Tuesday’s report.
There are currently 1,516 people being treated for the virus in Quebec hospitals—a drop of 268 from the previous report of 1,784 on Tuesday.
Of the hospital cases, 183 are currently in intensive care which is an increase of just 3 from Tuesday’s report.
As of Wednesday, Quebec has seen 12,882 recoveries which is up 385 from the report a day prior.
Quebec’s hardest hit region is still Montreal with 22,317 cases.
