Over two dozen flights have arrived in Canadian airports with coronavirus cases onboard in last two weeks

At least 26 flights have landed in Canada in the last two weeks that have confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Of the 26 confirmed flights to have infected passengers, 10 were domestic flights and 16 were international flights dating back to June 29, according to the federal government. They qualified their report by saying that the information is not exhaustive and is based on data from "provincial and territorial health authorities, international health authorities and public websites."

Those on board 11 flights from British Columbia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan have been advised by health officials that a number of passengers on those flights have been confirmed to have been infected with the virus, according to CTV News.

Officials have said that those who sat in rows seven to 22 on a flight from Winnipeg to Calgary and those sitting between rows four and 10 on a Calgary to Winnipeg flight are considered to have come within close contact with the infected passenger. These passengers are required to quarantine for two weeks and monitor for any symptoms of the disease.

Manitoba health officials added that one of the five new cases within the province was "on WestJet flight 261 from Winnipeg to Calgary on June 27 and on WestJet flight 526 from Calgary to Winnipeg on July 2," according to CTV News.

Saskatchewan has reported five flights that have been affected by the virus since June 11. British Columbia health officials have said that four affected flights landed in Vancouver in the last 14 days.

CTV News reported that Manitoba has kept a running list of flights that have had affected passengers onboard since the beginning of March, which currently sits at 43 total flights.

International flights landing in Canada with infected passengers include those coming from Mexico City, Cancun, Zurich, Paris, Addis Ababa, Islamabad, Lahore, Qatar, San Francisco, Washington, DC, Dallas, Detroit, and a trio of flights from Charlotte, North Carolina.

Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and the Atlantic provinces do not post information directly related to flights that have infected passengers.

The Nova Scotia Health Authority warned of a possibly affected flight traveling from Toronto to Halifax on June 26 through Air Canada.
