Prostasia says one of the most popular search terms that drives people to their website is the query "Is ageplay wrong?"
In answer to the question, pedophile-rights advocacy group dedicated a blog post with tips and tricks to optimize the practice of "age-play."
"As such, they are a form of BDSM that is strictly for adults only," Prostasia Foundation feels obligated to explain given their controversial sexual advocacy reputation.
Their introductory statements lump LGBTQ+ movements with kink and BDSM in a "sex-positive" umbrella.
Prostasia cites the case of "ageplayer Danni Hamilton" being accused of pedophilia for her choice to engage in psychological aggression to cope with "trauma."
There are contradictions between a few sections of the Prostasia blog post.
On the one hand, the organization offers advice about how to avoid actual "predatory online communities" where minors are actually harmed. This advice comes as actual young people find themselves caught up on forums dedicated to this practice. Prostasia’s best advice is to report whatever misconduct users experience to moderators and have them take care of it.
Prostasia claims:
"To complicate matters a little, minors are able to engage in non-sexual age regression—this is not a kink/BDSM activity, but simply involves regressing to a younger state of mind, often for therapeutic reasons. However, age regression forums that allow minors must be very scrupulous about keeping this distinct from partnered ageplay, and in particular should not allow older 'caregivers' to match with age regressing minors."
Prostasia then advisers people as to how to "negotiate" identity verification to make sure neither party is actually a minor, or a federal cop undercover.
For that, Prostasia offers advice on how to avoid law enforcement. They suggest encrypted services like Signal and WhatApp as the "safest" approaches to "ageplay" online.
In previous reporting on the subject, Prostasia has been highlighted in the news this year given their advocacy for adults who are sexually attracted to children. Dr. Allyn Walker from Old Dominion University lost their job because of an interview with Prostasia where they expressed their support for such ideas.
Noah Berlatsky of Prostasia was apparently shocked at the backlash.
