Police seeking pickup truck that left skid marks on Pride crosswalk
Investigators are asking for the public's assistance in identifying a white pickup truck that defaced a different pride crosswalk on August 21, 2020. The investigation was labelled as a "suspected hate crime incident," as the crosswalk design was only recently revealed.
Police say that the truck drove over the crosswalk and left black tire skid marks "over the rainbow area," before returning a short time later and leaving more.
Investigators "believe that the marks were done intentionally and this is being investigated as a hate-motivated incident." The incident took place at Yonge Street and Wellington Road in downtown Aurora, Ontario.
