A toddler just over one-year-old was struck and killed by a car in a driveway last night, in what Peel Regional Police call a "tragic accident."

CP24 is reporting that police received a call at 12:18am reporting that a child was struck in a driveway on Royal Salisbury Way, near Highway 410 and Williams Parkway.

The child was rushed to hospital after police found the toddler with no vital signs. Shortly after 1:00am, the child was pronounced dead. A white Chevrolet sedan reportedly ran over the child. Police say they will not lay charges in connection to the incident.
