POLL: Bump for Trump after Biden speech

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden gave his speech on the final evening of the Democratic National Convention last night, and it resulted in a big bump in the polls—for his opponent, President Donald Trump.

Typically a big political convention speech results in a poll surge for the candidate speaking, not the one who doesn't appear on stage that night. But while Democrats and their celeb spokespersons basked in the glory of the man they are by default supporting for president, Trump's poll numbers surged, according to polling by Rasmussen.

The numbers from Rasmussen's Liberty Nation sponsored daily Presidential Tracking Poll on Friday revealed that of likely voters in the US, 51 percent of them approve of Trump's presidential performance, while 47 percent disapprove.

Those who registered that that "strongly approve" of Trump's job in office are at 30 percent, while 40 percent "strongly disapprove."

There are concerns that much of the Democrat platform this election season is based in anti-Trump sentiments as opposed to any real policy concepts.

While the DNC talked about their feelings on Trump, they neglected to mention the over two months of rioting and unrest that have been rocking America's cities.

Biden has spent nearly all of his time in the past months of the pandemic in his home in Delaware, recording podcasts and speeches from his basement. The DNC abandoned Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where their convention was slated to take place.

Trump, who won Wisconsin in 2016, toured the area, and gave a speech in Oshkosh in person. He told the crowd outside Wittman Regional Airport, "I won't forget you — just like you didn't forget me in 2016."

"This has been an incredible experience getting to know you. I've been here a lot ... we've been good for each other," he said. "We have to win the election. We can't play games."
