338Canada's updated federal projection model shows a Liberal gain of 2 seats from their 2019 number of 157. This update comes at a time when Justin Trudeau is under extreme scrutiny for his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccine procurement strategy.

The projection also shows losses for the Conservative Party and the Bloq. Things are looking better for Jagmeet Singh and the NDP however, the polling tracker shows the New Democrats with a 6 seat gain.

Despite the Liberals' positive election polling numbers, Trudeau could still be in trouble. A new Angus Reid poll shows that around 52 per cent of Canadians strongly or moderately disapproved of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s handling of the pandemic.

Canada has fallen to 58th in the world in total vaccine doses administered per 100 people, trailing countries like Chile, Morocco, Greece and Kuwait.
