On Monday, a 32-year-old Portland, Oregon man who worked as a dance manager at a local club, Ali Muhammed Quraishi, was arrested and charged with 16 counts including rape, sodomy, sexual abuse, and invasion of privacy related to four different victims.

According to local KOIN News, Quraishi "has been charged with three counts of first-degree rape, four counts of first-degree sodomy, seven counts of first-degree sexual abuse, and one count each of invasion of personal privacy in the first degree and assault in the fourth degree."

According to KATU, law enforcement said, "Based on the nature of Quraishi’s crimes, Beaverton Police Detectives believe he likely has additional victims."

Police have not released the name of the club Quraishi worked for over fears that it would jeopardize the investigation, but say that they believe he still works for the club, according to Oregon Live.

Quraishi was indicted by a Washington County Grand Jury on March 17 on the 16 charges after an investigation began in May of 2022 into his conduct with the four victims. Police expect more to come forward.

The investigation started last year when Beaverton Police took a  report from the first victim to come forward who reported the assault, which the victim said happened in an apartment in the Cedar mill area of Portland.

Quraishi met the victim at a local Portland club where he worked as a dancer and dance manager.

According to Oregon Live, Quraishi pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

Anyone with information about Quraishi should contact Det. Maggie Brown at 971-253-9690 or madalynbrown@beavertonoregon.gov.
