WATCH: Antifa assaults elderly women, attempts to set Portland police precinct on fire

Members of Antifa have brought more chaos to the streets of Portland this week. Wednesday night included rioters using accelerants to set fire to the front of an occupied police precinct building while intentionally blocking exits. On Thursday, two elderly women were assaulted, one being doused with white paint.

The city declared a riot when the front of Portland Police Bureau’s East Precinct was set on fire Wednesday night. Eight were arrested after police used tear gas to disperse the violent mob. Security cameras were spray painted over, glass doors were shattered, fireworks and other objects were thrown at officers. The Police Bureau also said a driver in a truck attempted to run over its officers.

In a press conference Thursday afternoon, Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, sent a message to the rioters after basically ignoring them for over 60 days: "you are not demonstrating, you are attempting to commit murder."  Over 20 officers and civilian employees were inside when the fire started.

On Thursday night, two elderly women, one standing with the help of a walker, stood in the way of rioters destroying a wooden barricade and setting a fire in front of the same police precinct. They were then harassed by the angry mob. The elderly lady without the walker was doused in white paint while getting reamed out by angry rioters. It appears both were there to join protests, as one carried a "BLM" poster, but soon saw the chaos take over.

"Portlanders need to send a strong message that enough is enough, this movement is really powerful, but the violence has taken away from it.” Portland Police Chief Chuck Lovell told reporters on Wednesday.
