The mob of Antifa rioters appear to have taken over the streets, while setting fires and causing mayhem and destruction.

This came during a weekend of rioting that saw rioters tearing down fencing around Portland's federal courthouse, to protect it from vandalism and destruction.

The charged interactions with officers appear to be part of Antifa's strategy to both incite police and engage the public on their side.
Antifa seek violent confrontation w/law enforcement. When they get it, biased media & politicians say police incited violence.

Violence against civilians also appears to be part of the strategy for Antifa's lawlessness.
This is the lawlessness happening every night in an area of downtown Portland. When antifa aren’t attacking law enforcement or buildings, they assault other people. pic.twitter.com/8id41aXotk

Officials in Portland appear loathe to do anything about this, and are instead seemingly interested in giving more leeway to Antifa and their supporters. Both Oregon's senators and Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler are opposed to federal law enforcement's attempts to put an end to the violence and property destruction.
Portland police reported that the people gathered around the police precinct were interfering with the operations of a police facility. Law enforcement warned the rioters to move back, adding that "failure to follow this direction may subject you to arrest, citation, or use of force including crowd control munitions."

Trump has come under fire his interest in safeguarding American cities from Antifa and BLM violence and riots.
Wheeler, however, has instructed his officers to not aid federal officers.
