Protestors gathered outside the home of Democrat Mayor Muriel Bowser to protest the shooting of Deon Kay in Washington, DC on Wednesday night.

Antifa activists chanted pro-BLM slogans, like the clever and catchy "black lives matter, blue lives beat their wives." They were later captured on video arguing with police on the scene, alleging that they could continue their late-night protest, as they were not breaking the 60 decibel mark.

Video posted by News2Share's Ford Fischer shows activists speaking over a megaphone, with one asking: "Why the f—k did I vote for you?"

Protestors would go on to attempt to ring Bowser's doorbell, but were not allowed by police to go onto the mayor's property. They then attempted to summon her neighbours by knocking on their doors, before being told to "get off [their] lawn" from indoors.

Protesters continued challenging the police, kindly asking police to "f—k off."

It was later revealed that Deon was brandishing a gun when he was shot and killed by police.

Bowser attempted to appease the mob

A report commissioned by Bowser following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis attempted to appease the mob by moving forward with the dismantling of "systemic racism" in the form of various US facilities or monuments.

The report requests that the city "recommend" the federal government to "remove, relocate, or contextualize" memorials including the Washington monument, the Jefferson Memorial, and the Columbus Fountain.

Factors considered included whether or not the namesake participated in slavery, whether or not they were involved in systemic racism, whether they supported oppression, and whether or not they supported "supremacist agendas."

Pandering not enough

Mayor Bowser previously attempted to throw the mob a bone in the form of a large "BLACK LIVES MATTER" street mural that spanned blocks in the heart of the capital. Bowser had also officially deemed the section of 16th street with the mural as "BLM Plaza," even changing out the street sign.

Unfortunately for Bowser, the mural would require the erasure of a "DEFUND THE POLICE" mural painted by Antifa.

The "Defund the police" mural's erasure for the much more palatable "Black Lives Matter" caused outrage among DC activists, who accused Bowser of being pro-police, and thus enforcing systemic racism.
