White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki tested positive for Covid for a second time. Psaki is double vaccinated and has received her booster shot. Psaki's first positive test came in October of last year, again prior to a Europe trip with the president.

It is White House policy, she noted, in December, that "it is heavily recommended to get a booster. If you are going to be in close proximity with the President, you’re required to be tested that day. That goes over and above typical protocols. Given the workplace we work in, that certainly is appropriate. But — and, of course, we have masking requirements that are in place as well."

"Today, in preparation for travel to Europe, I took a PCR test this morning. That test came back positive, which means I will be adhering to CDC guidance and no longer be traveling on the President’s trip to Europe," Psaki tweeted.

This past weekend, Psaki released a statement detailing President Biden's upcoming plans to travel to Poland to meet with Polish President Andrzej Duda.

President Biden plans to be in Brussels this coming week to attend what is being called an "extraordinary" summit of the NATO allies in the wake of the Russian invasion of neighboring Ukraine.

Psaki's positive test was addressed at Tuesday's press briefing.
