Queen Elizabeth II wrote a message of condolence regarding the Nova Scotia shooting, the largest mass shooting in Canadian history. "Prince Philip and I have been deeply saddened by the appalling events in Nova Scotia," she wrote.

The Queen is referring to the 12-hour rampage where a 51-year-old male killed at least 19 people while dressed as an RCMP officer and driving in a fake RCMP cruiser.

This terrible act marks the deadliest mass shooting in history in the country's history. RCMP continue to investigate the 16 different crime scenes, five of which include burned out buildings that police believe may contain more victims bodies. Authorities have confirmed that the shooter is now dead.

As the nation remains in shock, other world leaders have sent their condolences.

"We send out condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of those who have lost their lives," the Queen continued. "I also pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the officers from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and other police services who selflessly responded to these devastating attacks, and to the emergency services who are supporting those who have been injured and affected.”

"My thoughts and prayers are with the people of Nova Scotia and all Canadians at this time." concluded Queen Elizabeth II.

The White House also issued a statement from the Office of the Press Secretary that reads, "On behalf of the American people, President Donald J. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump send their sincere condolences to all Canadians following the recent atrocities in Nova Scotia.”

“The United States and Canada share a special, enduring bond. As friends and neighbours, we will always stand with one another through our most trying times and greatest challenges.”

The RCMP are continuing their investigation into these crimes.
