Raptors rookie Terence Davis was arrested in New York City on Tuesday.

Davis has been charged with third-degree assault after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. He also faces Criminal mischief charges.

NYPD Detective Denise Moroney told CP24 that the victim reported to police that the alleged assault took place after a verbal dispute. Moroney said that Davis hit her in the face and broke her phone.

The alleged assault took place in an East Side Manhattan hotel.

A Raptors spokesperson told CP24 that the team is aware of the situation "and are seeking more information."

Davis, 23, was signed last summer after over-performing in a Summer League game. He averaged 7.5 points in the 2020 season over 72 games. He was selected as an All-Rookie Second Team.
