Republican Texas Rep. Dan Crenshaw introduced a bill aiming to protect oil and gas jobs in Texas, as President Joe Biden's environmentally driven executive orders kill off jobs across the nation, Fox News reports.

President Biden signed an executive order discontinuing the contract for the Keystone XL pipeline earlier this month, as well as one to halt leasing of federal land form oil and gas development. Both orders have resulted in tremendous job loss across the country and into Canada.

"Texas energy producers are bearing the brunt of President Biden's foolish, job-killing executive orders in the first days of this administration," Crenshaw said in a Thursday statement.

The new administration "is showing little regard to the livelihoods of blue-collar workers who are already struggling during this pandemic," he added.

The energy industry has been hit hard due to Biden's initial actions in Office. His administration has demonstrated that it is willing to nix thousands of blue collar jobs in the name of the climate change agenda.

Crenshaw's statement continues, "Energy production is critical for jobs, our economy, and also funds coastland conservation and hurricane preparedness."

"This bill will ensure that production continues despite President Biden's terrible executive orders."

The bill is called the Conservation Funding Protection Act is co sponsored by Reps. Steve Scalise, August Pfluger, Ronny Jackson, Randy Weber, Louie Gohmert, Lance Gooden, Jerry Carl and Michael Guest.

It will require the twice annual sale of available federal acreage in the Western and Central Gulf of Mexico, as well as maintains all current environmental laws and reviews, Fox news reports.

"When Washington radicals ban drilling on federal lands, Americans lose their jobs, investment flows overseas, and communities across America lose a primary source of revenue for schools, health care, and conservation efforts," Rep. Scalise wrote in an op-ed on Thursday.
