Rep. Dan Bishop introduces anti-CRT amendments to government funding bill

Congressman Dan Bishop is introducing amendments to the Democrats’ government funding bill in the House of Representatives and they’re aimed at banning federal cash from bankrolling critical race theory.

What the Republican Rep. from North Carolina is aiming to do here is create an amendment to the government funding bill that cuts off any federal cash from being used to prop up critical race theory related ideas or teachings.

The text of the bill defines the qualities of CRT as follows:

• (1) "Any race is inherently superior or inferior to any other race."
• (2) "The United States is a fundamentally racist country."
• (3) "The Declaration of Independence or the United States Constitution are fundamentally racist documents."
• (4) "An individual’s moral worth is determined by his or her race."
• (5) "An individual, by virtue of his or her race, is inherently racist or oppressive, whether consciously or unconsciously."
• (6) "An individual, because of his or her race, bears responsibility for the actions committed by members of his or her race."

According to Daily Caller, Bishop has “more than 40” cosponsors for these amendments, plural because the amendment text will go into each division of department funding, not just for education.

He told the outlet: “There’s nothing innocent about critical race theory, it’s an ideology that divides people by race and preaches that America is a fundamentally racist country. This poisonous ideology shouldn’t be promoted or taught anywhere in this country, especially not with Americans’ tax dollars.”

In critical race theory related lessons, instructors tell students to keep it a secret from their own parents. The contents of these studies include painting white people as the devil, and to hate their nation. To Bishop’s point, this past 4th of July NPR smeared the Declaration of Independence as racist.

The above traits of the racial ideology are specified like that because the far left has a track record of using semantics to skirt association to critical race theory.

When a Virginia PTA Vice President lost her position over saying “let them die” about parents who oppose CRT, that VP told CNN that what she was talking about had “nothing to do with” critical race theory.

These bills to block federal funding of CRT training have been deemed necessary by Senators like Ted Cruz, who back in June introduced one such bill to bring back former President Trump’s unilateral ban on it.

This latest effort comes off Biden's Education Secretary publicly distancing a grant initiative from having to include this ideological framing in their proposals.
