The dilemma is both about Meghan McCain represented as a host on The View, but just as much as the void her departure brings.
It was at the beginning of the month when Meghan McCain announced her decision to leave the talk show. Her position as a conservative voice was appealing enough to the host’s interests, in terms of political balance.
This is becoming increasingly evident according to a new report from the Daily Mail that says it’s only now, towards the end of July, that Meghan’s colleagues are now understanding how important John McCain’s daughter was to the show.
The juicy gossip is as follows, per an “ABC insider” in the know:
"It's chaos behind the scenes at The View. Joy Behar is openly moaning about Meghan leaving as it's finally hit her that sometimes it is better the devil you know. Joy has only just realized that they could be getting someone much further right on the political spectrum than Meghan who won't put up with her crap.”
Joy Behar previously got into a feud with Dan Bongino after she claimed Antifa “doesn’t even exist.”
When Winston Marshall got into controversy for openly supporting Andy Ngo, Meghan McCain was in his corner defending them.
The source says Candance Owens, Kimberly Guilfoyle, and Megyn Kelly as replacement candidates who’d dramatically shake things up.
In the case of Donald Trump Jr.’s girlfriend, Guilfoyle was sought after on at least three separate occasions. She was a hit in the ratings.
Daily Mail says Ana Navarro of CNN is vying for the spot. Her current status as a sometimes guest host has led Navarro to clash with CNN’s Van Jones for taking a selfie with Candace Owens, and publicly defending the controversial return of Jeffrey Toobin to the workplace.
“Ana Navarro is angry because she desperately wants Meghan's job but she's convinced they're not going to give her a full time seat at the table,” said the inside source. "Ana doesn't deserve the chair. She is not a Republican in the true sense of the word, all she does is slam people who voted for Trump."
But interestingly, Page Six is saying the exact opposite. That Ana Navarro is a fan-favorite who'd have to be "paid well" to take the job.
This other story is seemingly trying to cover for the Daily Mail report. This counter-story is trying to say everything is fine and the show has a line-up of guest hosts ready to go in the meantime, while a replacement is sought after.
This particular source told Page Six: “There is no scramble. They’re taking time to find the right person to fill the seat. No one is freaking out.”
The View has been on-air since August 1997, with a catalog of thousands of episodes.
