CNN's Brian Stelter took calls during a segment on C-SPAN, and those callers had nothing but vitriol for the news anchor, whose ratings have been steadily dropping since the beginning of the year.
Tammy Bruce recently played the video of Stelter taking insult after insult from C-SPAN's live callers on Thursday's edition of Washington Journal, where Stelter was trying to promote his book Hoax, which is an attack on Fox News.
"I'd like to ask Brian to—on national television—admit he and his network are a bunch of liars about Donald Trump," the first caller asked.
Kevin from Indiana called in to say "Mr. Stelter is the biggest minister of misinformation I have ever heard and I'm a news junkie. He made the statement just a few minutes ago that the stories are 'always evolving.' Yeah, his stories absolutely 'evolve.'"
"Thank you for the feedback," Stelter said politely, "I appreciate it."
"I was just wondering if you still feel like Michael Avenatti is the greatest thing in the world and should run for president of the United States," another called remarked. "My suggestion is, whatever CNN says, do the opposite and you'll do fine."
"CNN is just something—it's a joke," a caller said. "It's a joke. This guy tells more lies, and Fox gives more news than CNN does in a few years."
Stelter has recently been slammed by Joe Rogan, who said on his hit podcast that Stelter has been too easy on the Biden administration, pitching softball questions to Press Secretary Jen Psaki. In an interview, Stelter asked Psaki "what are we doing wrong," as regards media coverage of the White House.
"Hey motherf*cker," Rogan said in reaction to this, "you're supposed to be a journalist."
