Chicago police arrested an 18-year old man for criminal sexual abuse on Thursday after he was identified as the man who was live-streamed sexually assaulting a 7-year-old during a break from her public school remote learning class.

According to the Chicago Tribune, witnesses, including the girl's teacher and other students, saw the 7-year-old being sexually molested during a remote learning session on Thursday. Cartrell A. Walls was charged with predatory primal sexual assault of a victim under 13.

The incident was reportedly viewed by multiple students who could be heard asking "What's going on, what’s happening?"

The girl told authorities that Walls had been abusing her in this way for the past year, and that it was a "secret."

The young girl was reportedly on a break from class, where she was supposed to have muted herself and turned off her camera. She muted herself, but left the camera on. When the teacher saw what was happening she told other students to log off.

Police went to the victims house and arrested Walls after the teacher called the police.

Judge Charles Beach offered no bail, citing the fact that Walls was already "currently on bail for a felony offense" and that the crime was "broadcast on video … multiple people saw it, including the teacher."
