The body of acclaimed Irish singer Sinéad O'Connor's 17-year-old son was recovered after he went missing from an Irish hospital while on suicide watch.
On Thursday, the pop star took to Twitter with a desperate plea after her young son Shane was reported missing. The boy's body was later found Friday by police outside Dublin. The cause of death has not yet been released.
According to his mother, Shane O'Connor was suicidal, and had been checked in to Tallaght Hosptial's Lynn Ward as a precaution. Somehow, the troubled teen escaped the hospital and took his own life, according to O'Connor.
I want to know why Lynn Ward at Taillight hospital who were supposed to have HCA’s supervise my child 24/7 have managed to let him out of their grasp this morning when 7 days ago he made two severe suicide attempts.

"Like, how has a seventeen year old traumatised young person WHO WAS ON SUICIDE WATCH in Tallaght Hospital’s Lynn Ward been able to go missing???" an emotional O'Connor wrote Thursday. "Hospital of course so far refusing to take any responsibility. Anything happens to my son on their watch? Lawsuits."

"26 hours after my son died in the so called care of the Irish State in the form of Tusla, I have yet to receive any contact from Tusla or their representatives," O'Connor also tweeted. "No contact from Tusla is unacceptable."

In a series of tweets Saturday morning, O'Connor tore into Tallaght Hospital and Tusla, Ireland's child and family agency, over their alleged negligience and apparent inability to keep her teenage son from killing himself.
Now tusla want to discuss with me “a media release” no doubt wishing to have me join in their efforts to make this death of my child seem like it wasn’t at the hands of the Irish State.

Tusla and HSE to release dishonest ass covering statement in response to international questioning. A load of lies, refusals to accept responsibility. Couched as always in the omnipotent and false concern they claim to have for the privacy of the children who die on their watch

On Saturday, O'Connor continued her social media tirade against Tusla, accusing officials of refusing to take responsibility, calling their imminent press release "a load of lies," that are "couched as always in the omnipotent and false concern they claim to have for the privacy of the children who die on their watch."
As The Guardian reports, the teen was last seen on Friday morning in the Tallaght, Dublin area. His body was recovered later in the day and identified by his mother on Saturday afternoon. Condolences to Sinéad, who has three other children, and Shane's father Dónal Lunny have been pouring in across social media.
