Toronto police made arrests after a street in Toronto was lit on fire for the performance of driving stunts.

The incident began early in the morning on Sunday. Dozens of people were seen standing around a parking lot spectating as cars drove through rings of fire. Many spectators used their phones to record the spectacle.
According to police, officers who arrived on the scene "were met with hostility" and one police car was damaged while breaking up the gathering. Video footage shows participants jumping on a police car and one person kicking off the sideview mirror.

"When the group was dispersed they made their way to other areas of the city and engaged in similar activities," police said.
Similar events have become increasingly common in Toronto since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, although they did happen beforehand as well. It is uncommon for participants to set the streets ablaze, however.
It is unclear how many people were arrested in connection with the incident. Police have not yet revealed who is facing charges either.
