Filmores near Sherbourne and Dundas in Toronto say that all dancers and employees will be fully vaccinated and expects the same of their guests. This comes as a growing range of businesses say they will also plan to implement the same system.
Infectious disease specialist Dr. Isaac Bogoch said in a Tweet, "This is a wonderful example of protecting workers and customers," said Bogoch. "Many businesses/organizations could learn a lot from this proactive approach."
Jan De Silva, CEO of the Toronto Region Board of Trade is calling on the Ontario government to implement a vaccine passport system to restrict access to non-essential businesses to only fully vaccinated citizens. De Silva says the only way to feel safe and prevent more lockdowns is to require proof of vaccination to access large conferences and others activities like indoor dining.
"The EU as of July 1st has gone live with the digital pass, and the reason why we’re so pro using that tool is that we’ve worked so hard and our small businesses have gone through multiple lockdowns that have had a devastating effect to them," said De Silva according to the Toronto Star. "Now that we’ve got sufficient vaccine, it’s a way to start resuming a more normal form of day-to-day living."
Tory told CP24 Wednesday morning that "the bottom line is that if there are people including government who are going to ask you to show that you’ve been vaccinated or not." Tory would later appear on Breakfast Television, where he said that he had "absolutely no idea whatsoever what the controversy is about here."
