According to new records, the primary sub-source for the FBI investigation into collusion between President Trump and Russia, is potentially a Russian spy. The FBI knew about this, and used the information as rationale for surveilling Carter Page anyway.
Known as "Crossfire Hurricane," the team looking into the Alexander Steele dossier, never disclosed this information to congress. This is seen as deeply unethical as the FBI launched an investigation on Russian collusion, with a source that is under suspicion by the FBI of being a possible Russian agent.
Furthermore, the individual in question returned to the US in 2017 and was interrogated by the FBI over a three-day period, during which he disavowed many of the claims in the dossier, according to CBS Correspondent Catherine Herridge.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), was enraged by the news. "To me, failure of the FBI to inform the court that the Primary Sub-source was suspected of being a Russian agent is a breach of every duty owed by law enforcement to the judicial system," Graham said.
